Fees and possible outcomes

Understand the questions to ask about representation fees, potential compensation and next steps before progressing a business energy claim.

What you agree to when you enquire

Submitting your details requests contact about a potential claim. It does not appoint a solicitor or claims representative or create a legal representation agreement. Our service reviews energy contracts signed before 1 October 2022.

Understand the proposed fees before proceeding

There’s nothing to pay to enquire, sign a Letter of Authority or have your contracts checked. If a claim goes ahead, the solicitor’s fee is set out in writing before you agree to anything. Read that agreement rather than assuming another provider’s terms apply.

Questions to ask about costs

Ask who will handle the case, what work is included, whether there are upfront fees, how any success fee is calculated, whether VAT or other costs apply, and what happens if a case is unsuccessful or you withdraw. Obtain answers in writing before appointing a representative.

Could your business be owed thousands?

That is a possibility, not an estimate for your business. Entitlement and any amount depend on the contract, evidence and individual circumstances. Your monthly spend alone cannot establish either a claim or a likely recovery. Our calculator gives a rough guide only, never a promised payout.

How long will it take?

There is no guaranteed timescale. Gathering paperwork, checking missing information and considering the individual case can take different amounts of time. Ask the team about your next step and tell them if your circumstances change.

What if the case cannot proceed?

The review may identify missing evidence or conclude that the matter is not suitable to progress through this service. A completed form or uploaded document checklist does not guarantee acceptance by a claim handler or compensation. Ask for an explanation of the outcome and any proposed next steps.
